The team is looking for a talented Data & Research - Justice Sector Advisor (Arabic speaker) who is excited by the prospect of working internationally and wants to drive further access to justice and justice innovation. The Justice Sector Advisor - Data & Research conducts quantitative and qualitative research on access to justice and people-centred solutions and translates research findings into actionable recommendations relevant to policymakers, practitioners, and other stakeholders. Working as part of a team, research is carried out across several Arabic speaking countries.

How will you contribute to our mission:
- You engage in the data quality control process at the early stages.
- You design data collection tools in partnership with local justice stakeholders to ensure relevance and applicability.
- Collect and analyse quantitative and qualitative data related to access to justice in the countries where HiiL works.
- You write reports and other products that present data in a user-friendly way and meet the requirements of donors and clients.
- You translate research findings into relevant and actionable recommendations, making a tangible impact on the ground.
- You liaise with current and potential clients, partners, donors and funders.
- You are experienced in carrying out research projects and you are comfortable in engaging in dialogues with stakeholders, enabling them to act on the basis of data and evidence.
- You deliver data presentations & coach local justice stakeholders to work with data.
- Keep up-to-date with emerging and trending best practices and methodologies, processes and tools.
What we look for in a new colleague:
- You have a Master’s degree in a social science discipline or an LLM degree;
- You have at least three (3) years of relevant work experience in research on access to justice or related fields in a national or international research environment;
- You have worked with major statistical packages/languages (e.g. Stata, SPSS, SAS, or R) - this is a strong requirement;
- You understand qualitative research methods;
- Experience or knowledge of justice innovation or human-design methods is a plus;
- Experience working with civil society organisations in the Global South is an advantage;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with partners, colleagues, and stakeholders of government and other multilateral organisations;
- Excellent presentations skills;
- You demonstrate a high level of organisation; a strong ability to prioritise tasks to meet multiple deadlines and are able to work under time pressure;
- Have full professional proficiency in English; verbally and written. Proficiency in Arabic is a requirement.
- You are an EU-citizen or hold a valid NL working permit.
We offer:
- Starting date: January 2024 (or in mutual agreement);
- A monthly salary for a full-time (40h) working week, between €3.600,-/ €4.350, based on seniority;
- An initial period of 12 months, aiming to build a long-term work relationship;
- Up to 8 weeks of holidays when working full time;
- Pension coverage by ABP Pension Fund;
- Company laptop and a NS card for commuting.
